Origin Technologies Ltd. was founded in 2000 by entrepreneur Tim Rock, who saw the need for an affordable and accurate way of detecting the increasing number of speed cameras on the UK's roads. He was also instrumental in commissioning widely quoted research by MORI into driver's attitudes about speed limits and speed trap detectors in order to back up a report to the government. Origin blue i The Origin blue i unit began development in late 1999. Origin blue i has been granted six patents for its unique features and more are pending.
